PEACE ROSE BUSH

The peace Rose Bush has been a favorite of rose growers for many generations. Of all the different rose types this is probably the rose that most people are familiar with. Gardening caring for roses such as this is simple enough and as such is a great way to start growing roses for beginners. There is also the benefit that growing rose cuttings from this type of rose is also easy.

Although the Peace Rose is only very lightly scented it is still today a great favorite.

Peace produces large dark to pale yellow blooms that have a slight pink edging.  This type of rose has glossy, dark green leaves and is a very vigorous grower.  Its shape is bushy rather than upright.

It is only of average disease resistance and will not grow well in every location.  A member of the hybrid tea rose types the Peace Rose Bush needs plenty of room to grow.  It will grow anywhere from 4 feet tall to 7 feet tall.   The Peace Rose Bush does not require much pruning and should only be very lightly pruned.

Peace Rose Bush Care Maintenance

Fortunately rose bushes are deep rooted so unless severe drought is expected watering is not an issue. In fact roses hate being overwatered or being planted in wet conditions. Make sure to mulch well every year and give a liquid feed every late June early July.  Naturally all the normal rules for the care of roses apply also.

Since the peace Rose bush is a hybrid tea rose it is easy to grow rose cuttings from this plant. You can read here how to grow rose cuttings.

The Peace rose bush actually has an offspring called Pink peace and other than the word peace there are no similarities. The Pink Peace rose is a wonderful type of rose. It grows upright as opposed to its parents bushy nature. It is also reasonably scented as where peace has no scent. It is also more free flowering than the original.
