Different Hybrid Tea Rose Types

There is a vast collection of hybrid teas and these are but a small few. There is always a rose for somebody from these types. If you are thinking of growing roses then this is a great place to start. The only problem is choosing which one. If you are like me you’ll want them all and now!

Alec’s Red

An extremely popular type that is easil available. It is an offspring of the popular Fragrant Cloud. very suitable for bedding, cutting and exhibiting. It is highly fragrant. The main advantages of this type of rose is its vigorous growth and plentiful blooms. In comparison to different rose types this rose is reasonably resistant to rain. It is a cherry red color with medium green foliage and is bushy in form.

Dawn Chorus, also sometimes called Dicquasar.

This rose type is one of the most outstanding of roses. First came on the market in the 1990′s, it bears highly scented and will produce a long and free flowering period. very often it will produce so many of its medium sized deep orange and flushed yellow blooms that it will cover its dark green leaves. This superb rose is also disease resistant. It grows vigorously in an upright form. It makes for stunning bedding schemes.

Double Delight Hybrid Tea Rose Type

If you are looking for eye catching display or a rose type for cutting then this rose has to be a contender. This American rose was voted one of the worlds favorite roses by the World Federation of Rose Societies. It is easy to see why. It produces masses of cream and red rimmed very fragrant large blooms. These blooms are borne on vigorous upright growth. Its leaves are glossy and medium green in color. The only disadvantage of this rose type is that it is a little prone to disease. But well worth the little effort.

Dutch Gold Hybrid Rose Type

This rose is an offspring of Whisky Mac and Peer Gynt. Launched in 1978 and still retains great popularity. it has large, fragrant golden yellow blooms with dark green glossy foliage. It grows vigorously in an upright form. Not as prone to rain damage as some other hybrid tea rose types and the golden yellow blooms do not fade. these blooms are freely produced over an extended period of time.

Grandpa Dickson- sometimes called Irish Gold

This is a pale lemony yellow bloomed hybrid tea type that is widely available. it bears its large blooms on long vigorous stems and is slightly fragrant. Blooms towards late summer and is disease resistant. It does need good quality soil

Pink Peace

An offspring of the very famous rose type known simply as Peace.

Bears large pink and fragrant blooms freely with a vigorous upright form. Its foliage is of a bronze tinged hue. This type tends to grow taller than the average Hybrid Tea Rose type and has average disease resistance.
